Stopping Spiritual Attacks—Part OneSpiritual attacks are the result of spiritual warfare. This is a challenge every Christian will face. These attacks will consist of the following:
There is no way to stop Satan from putting unwanted thoughts into your mind, but you can avoid entertaining these thoughts. And there is no way to completely eliminate disturbing emotions, but you can diminish the disturbance that you experience. This is Part One of a series on effective ways of dealing with unwanted thoughts and disturbing emotions. The series will teach you how to resist demonic attacks. It is recommended that you read the entire series. Part One is a quick overview. There are four points. First: "Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray." {James 5:13 NASB} Pray when you come under spiritual attacks:
Second: Recite Scripture: Examples:
"For the word of God is living and active . . ." {Hebrews 4:12 NASB} Third: Use affirmations based on Scripture. Examples: "Be anxious for nothing . . ." {Philippians 4:6 NASB} Affirmation: I choose to 'be anxious for nothing.' "He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces." {Psalm 107:14 NKJV} Affirmation: I break this in the name of Jesus. Fourth: Use reminders based on Scripture: ". . . whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right . . . think about these things." {Philippians 4:8 NASB} Reminder: Don't think about people you don't like. Then, think about something else. Note: Using any two items is more effective. A link to Part Two is below. |
