Prayer & Success

There is a direct connection between the amount of time you spend in prayer and your level of success. Two examples follow.

One pastor was failing in seminary until he decided to get up early before classes daily and spend two hours in prayer. He is now one of two senior pastors at a large church.

I find that I experience a lot more peace now that I usually pray, and study the Bible, for an hour, each day, after breakfast. I also pray at other times during the day.

If you need a template as to how to structure your prayer, here are two of them.

  • The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13).
  • ACTS (Adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication).

Aside from that, if you're not sure as to how to pray, I'd simply suggest that you look for biblical principles on prayer as you read your Bible.

You should be reading your Bible, every day.

No particular body position is required for prayer.

If time constraints are an issue, you may need to be creative in terms of how to spend more time in prayer. You can pray while driving, walking, waiting in line, doing routine tasks etc.

Spending a lot of time in prayer may seem to be a big waste of time. But it is not.
