"The entrance of thy words giveth light (Psalm 119:130)."

A Quick Start Guide

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31-32 NKJV).”

This article tells you what you need to know to get started.

First, get saved. This is always the first step. You can't make any progress until you first accomplish this.

Second, read your Bible every day—preferably in the morning. Read a full chapter of the Bible every day. For mental health concerns, your reading should emphasize the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs.

Look for information you can apply to your particular issues. In particular, it is important that you forgive others.

And remember to pray every day.

Third, as a general rule, don't use psychotropic drugs. Psychotropic drugs are a serious impediment to spiritual growth—and usually make it impossible to make any lasting progress. Read my article on psychotropic drugs for more information and possible exceptions.

More information is available on this website. But, if you're new to Christianity, this article gives you the basics to get you started.
