Affirmations—Part 2

Affirmations can also be used to get rid of bad habits. This is easy to do and very effective.

Simply say, out loud, five different affirmations every time you find yourself engaging in a habitual behavior that you'd like to get rid of. The example that follows involves my old bad habit of wasting money by opening the refrigerator unnecessarily.

Here's the example:

  • "I will think before opening the refrigerator."
  • "I will always think before opening the refrigerator."
  • "Always think before opening the refrigerator.
  • "Always think, then open the refrigerator."
  • "Think first, then open the refrigerator."

Yes I do this and yes it does work.
