Affirmations—Part 2

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things (Philippians 4:8 NIV)."

Affirmations are an effective way to keep your thoughts off of negatives—which is what we're commanded to do. This is quick and easy to do. And you will learn everything you need to know in the next two minutes.

Whenever you find yourself thinking about something negative, simply say, out loud, three or more different affirmations. Here's an example:

  • "I will think about good things."
  • "I will always think about good things."
  • "Only think about good things."

Then think about something else.

You will be surprised how well this works.

This same technique can also be used to get rid of bad habits. For example, wasting money by opening the refrigerator unnecessarily. Here's another example:

  • "I will think before opening the refrigerator."
  • "I will always think before opening the refrigerator."
  • "Always think before opening the refrigerator.
  • "Think first, then open the refrigerator."

Yes I do this and yes it does work.

Affirmations are an effective tool for keeping your thoughts under control. And they can also be used to get rid of bad habits.
